New Community Building Initiative Launched in Abu Dhabi

The University of Sharjah is implementing measures within the framework of the "Year of Community" initiative, launched by the UAE government with the aim of strengthening collaboration and commitment, together with the Public Support and Interaction Fund, to complete the first phase of the construction of the first building in the Mafraq region, to be rented out to individuals from the community to support local entrepreneurship.

The vice-president and president of the university affirm that they are proud of their ability to support and activate students in Abu Dhabi, providing them with educational opportunities and calling for a promising future. Collaboration between the university and the Public Support and Interaction Fund reflects the importance of strategic partnerships in creating effective solutions that enhance social development.

Part of the income from the rent will be allocated for financing full and partial scholarships, providing opportunities for students to benefit from educational support upon completion of the project. Professor Abu Dhabi emphasized that this social project is a significant step in achieving the university's goal of strengthening the culture of cooperation and achieving sustainable social influence both internally and beyond the country's borders.

The initiative also contributes to the goals of "Year of Community" in the UAE and aims to highlight the important role of higher education in strengthening social development, stimulating economic growth, and reinforcing the position of the Sharjah University as a leading educational institution. The university strives through partnerships with the Public Support and Interaction Fund to invest in developing future leaders, expand educational opportunities and strengthen the economy, based on knowledge.

The constructed building is part of the initiative "From Society to Society", recently launched by the Public Support and Interaction Fund, aimed at identifying key public projects for the empowerment of cultural cooperation and recognition of collective efforts, witnessing the ability of collective work to achieve long-term positive social impact.

In the project 30% of the building will involve participation from the Sharjah faculty, the general director of the Public Support and Interaction Fund, and the executive director of the Social Investment Fund at the Public Support and Interaction Fund, with the participation of high-ranking representatives from both sides. The building will contain several premises, including six shops, 16 offices, four warehouses, and a marketplace.
